The Chapel sits at the end of the half-mile tree-lined Long Walk, along which the bride can sometimes travel on the way to the ceremony.
Gibside Weddings offers the unique opportunity to have your wedding day set within one of the great designed landscapes of the North. The Chapel, where our weddings are held, is an ecclesiastical masterpiece and is the finest church in the Palladian style in the country.
We can now offer the exciting opportunity to hold both your wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast within this historic environment*. The Chapel and surrounding garden, designed for entertaining guests of the Bowes-Lyon family, forms part of the inner pleasure grounds of Gibside. A wonderful backdrop for a perfect day!
Gibside’s grand design, Royal connections and rich history together with the National Trust’s care and presentation, will make you feel very special on your wedding day. The beautifully maintained gardens, architectural delights and rolling landscape are perfect for your wedding photographs.
The avenue is often used as a ceremonial approach by horse and carriage to this magnificent building and with breathtaking scenery, a wedding at Gibside will be one of life’s most memorable experiences.
