Tyneside Cinema at Old Town Hall, Gateshead

Tyneside Cinema moved to Gateshead’s Old Town Hall during the redevelopment of their Newcastle home and this scaffolding banner adorned the building for approximately six months of their year-long stay.
The scaffold depicts a colourful fantasy world where stars of cinema, past and present, have literally been boxed-up and relocated to the Old Town Hall. This theme formed the core of a relocation campaign for the cinema.
Having established a temporary home at Old Town Hall; the cinema promptly branded the building in their own image. I created a series of interior and exterior signage using the same design from their old Newcastle base, establishing a sense of much-needed familiarity for their customers.
The exterior signage was produced on weather-proof coloured acrylic and the interior directional signs on sticky-back vinyl. All signage was printed and installed by Hooper Signs.
