In his debut book, author Raj Parmar explores how George Orwell’s 1984 wasn’t anything like 1984.
Orwell’s classic novel showed that the key to totalitarianism is crushing creativity and individuality.
However, in 1984, creativity was in full flourish as artists, musicians, athletes and inventors pushed boundaries to inspire and empower the masses.
This project was a first for Velcrobelly: designing a book in Apple’s iBook format. This format allows for rich interactive features like Multi-Touch, audio and video to be embedded as part of the presentation.
Despite being digital only, the book is typeset with the same attention to detail as a printed book, and is illustrated throughout with images created especially for the project.
A Time To Revolt is a unique book which is available on iTunes.
